Nyala – Feb. 3- SAR
Over 20 civilians were killed on Monday and more than 18 others injured as a result of airstrikes by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) warplanes on Nyala, the capital city of South Darfur state.
The aerial bombardment targeted areas to the east of Makkah Eye Hospital, north of the Cinema roundabout, and the Al- Joumhouria neighborhood, east of Al-Nour Charity Hospital.
According to reports from the Sudanese Alliance for Rights (SAR), the SAF warplanes dropped explosive barrels on several parts of the city, including near the Shakireen Medical Clinic, the Cinema 5-a-side football fields, and the Zain Building.
Two additional explosive barrels were dropped near the buildings of the Tax and Zakat (alms) Authority.
The attack has caused widespread destruction, damaging infrastructure and homes in the densely populated central neighborhoods of Nyala.
