Omdurman – Feb. 5 – SAR
At least six civilians were killed and 38 others, including a worker and a medical staff member, were injured by shrapnel from artillery shells that exploded inside the courtyard of Al-Nao Hospital in Omdurman city, north of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, according to reports from the Sudanese Alliance for Rights (SAR).
The Health Emergency Committee in Khartoum has accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of targeting Al-Nao Hospital, located in District (8) of Al-Thawra neighborhood of Omdurman, with heavy artillery.
Al-Nao Hospital has become a vital lifeline, providing essential healthcare to the community, as the ongoing war has severely impacted the health sector, leading to the destruction of hospitals and a critical shortage of medical supplies.
Human rights reports have revealed that numerous medical facilities have been attacked during the conflict, leaving many hospitals out of service, amid warnings of a humanitarian disaster and the escalating suffering of civilians due to the lack of healthcare.
