Child Killed, Several Homes and Market Destroyed in Sudanese Army Airstrike on Al-Korgol Area, South Kordofan

A 13-year-old child was killed, and several homes and a local market were destroyed in a Sudanese Army airstrike that targeted Al-Korkol area in the Nuba Mountains region.

The attack occurred Saturday morning, February 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM, according to reports from the Sudanese Alliance for Rights (SAR).

Eyewitnesses from the area, which is controlled by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), confirmed that the airstrike had left several houses and the local market a blaze.

Al-Korkol area is located south of Kadugli, the capital of Sudan’s South Kordofan State, and is part of the Habila administrative unit.
