El Fasher – SAR

The Sudanese Alliance for Rights (SAR) has reported a rise in attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Darfur State in western Sudan.

On January 29th, the Abu Shouk displacement camp in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, was shelled for the second time, leaving nine civilians dead, including two women and a child, and at least 12 others wounded.

In a previous incident, a drone strike blamed on the RSF targeted the emergency department of the Saudi Hospital in El Fasher, killing at least 67 people and injuring 19 others. The attack caused significant damage to the emergency unit, rendering it out of service.
