Zalingei – SAR
In the early hours of this Saturday, February 8, 2025, the Sudanese army’s air force launched devastating airstrikes on Zalingei, the capital city of Central Darfur State. The army’s warplanes dropped a barrage of explosive barrels on unarmed civilians.
According to reports from the Sudanese Alliance for Rights (SAR), the aerial bombardment targeted the Al-Thawra neighborhood in Zalingei, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and the injury of two others, all from the same family.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to the SAR confirmed that the victims of the airstrikes included Mutwakil Saleem Idris Adam, Mihrab Saleem Idris Adam, and Mohamed Saleem Salim Idris Adam, while the injured included Rashida Nour Al-Din Hussein (the mother) and Meraj Saleem Idris Adam.
The SAR’s follow-up reports indicated the diseased and injured members of the bereaved family are the grandchildren of Mr. Nasr Al-Din Ahmed Tambour, father of Mustafa Tambour, who is fighting alongside the Sudanese army, and nephews of the renowned businessman Mubarak Idris.
