The Sudanese Alliance for Rights strongly condemns the heinous airstrikes carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces’ Air Force since the start of December, targeting civilians across Darfur, Al-Jazeera State, and Khartoum. These deliberate and indiscriminate attacks have claimed the lives of 133 civilians and left over 200 others injured, violating fundamental human rights and international humanitarian law.
The tragic details of these atrocities are as follows:
- 9 December 2024: 86 civilians killed in the bombing of the Kabkabiya city market, North Darfur.
- 8 December 2024: 28 civilians killed in the bombing of the Ammonia fuel station north of Bashayer Hospital, Khartoum.
- 6 December 2024: 7 worshippers killed in the bombing of a mosque in Khartoum Bahri.
- 2 December 2024: 12 civilians killed in the bombing of Al-Jazeera State.
These attacks, occurring within a single week, highlight a systematic assault on civilian populations and infrastructure. We strongly denounce these violations, which reflect a blatant disregard for the sanctity of human life and principles of justice.
The Sudanese Alliance for Rights urgently calls upon the international community to:
- Intervene immediately to prevent further atrocities and protect civilians.
- Hold the perpetrators accountable for these war crimes.
- Provide humanitarian aid to support the victims and affected communities.
We stand in unwavering solidarity with the victims and their families, and we reiterate our commitment to advocating for justice, accountability, and an end to the violence that continues to devastate Sudan.
End the violence. Protect human rights. Uphold justice.
